The Montgomery Environmental Commission wants to recognize township residents, students, businesses and organizations who are taking steps to protect our shared environment with our 4th annual Montgomery Environmental Awards for 2023.  Nominations are being accepted now through April 1 to highlight the work of environmental changemakers in our community.

The Township is seeking nominations in these categories:  1) Climate Change & Clean Air; 2) Water Resources; 3) Healthy Ecosystems & Habitats; 4) Landowner of the Year; and 5) Healthy & Sustainable Businesses. For a description of eligibility, award categories, and the nomination process, see below or visit the Environmental Awards full webpage at https://www.montgomerynj.gov/bc-ecsm/page/environmental-awards

Nominate your neighbor who turned their yard into a backyard habitat, or a local business going above and beyond to incorporate sustainable practices into their operations.

Past winners have included community groups like the Montgomery Friends of Open Space who runs the weekly Farmers Market, and local businesses such as Orchard Farm Organics for their sustainable farming practices and Technician X for their electronics recycling program.  Local individuals recognized include Clem Fiori for his habitat restoration work, and Larry Koplik and Sarah Roberts for their land conservation efforts.

Nominations are due by 4pm on April 1 via email to LWasilauski [at] montgomerynj.gov or via mail to: Montgomery Environmental Commission, 100 Community Drive, Skillman NJ 08558.  Winners will be announced later this year.
