Did you know that most of our municipality’s decision-making boards and committees are 100% citizen-volunteer run? Mayor Sadaf Jaffer and the other members of the Montgomery Township Committee would like to invite you to apply.
Below is a series of brief interviews with the leaders of key municipal volunteer committees, explaining what they do and how you can get involved. If you find yourself drawn to the work of a particular board, please apply:
Consider volunteering! We are always seeking citizens for appointment to serve for one year or more. Montgomery residents serve on many of the Township’s over 30 committees. Most meeting are held in the evening once a month. (Link to Monthly Meetings Calendar.)
Applying is easy. If you would like to be considered, please fill out a Municipal Volunteer Form – its a simple one page form, also available in the Township Clerks Office (firstname.lastname@example.org or 908- 359-8211.) You can learn more about the work of municipal boards and committees on the Boards and Commissions page of this web site. Many appointments are made at the end of the year, but its never too late or too early to submit the volunteer form. To be considered, you do not need to have expertise in the particular committee’s area, you just need to be a resident who cares about Montgomery!
